The Garden of Arnica
Straight from the soil, into the kitchen and onto the plates
We have always harvested fruit and vegetables from our natural garden surrounding Villa Arnica. And we serve what we pick at breakfast and in our light Mediterranean dishes carefully prepared in our pool kitchen.
However, what is new is that we are now cultivating a 3,000-square-metre field adjacent to the Villa Arnica. This addition provides a bountiful harvest of fresh, crunchy and juicy produce and supplies all four of our hotels – Villa Arnica, 1477 Reichhalter and Hotel Schwarzschmied in Lana as well as Parkhotel Mondschein in Bolzano.

Take a peek over the garden fence, and let us know what you would like to see on your plate. A wholesome diet requires healthy soil, water and the loving touch of our gardeners. They grow radishes, onions, lettuce and kale and cultivate rocket, parsley, chives, celery, basil, tomatoes, peppers, carrots, rosemary and sunflowers... A green paradise!

In all our kitchens, only regional ingredients go into the pots, pans and baking tins. Our honey and butter come straight from South Tyrolean mountain pastures, while our goat cheese is sourced from an organic farm in Ultental. The organic Fairtrade coffee is roasted in Völs, and the pasta is made in our in-house pasta manufactory.
For those who follow a vegan diet, we offer a wide variety of breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner options. Bon appétit! The Schwarzschmied is strongly oriented towards the slow food principle: at the bar and in the Bistro Luce, in addition to homemade organic lemonades and fruit juices, there is a large selection of local beers and a wine list with over 400 Italian and international wines of various vintages. You come, we host. We design, you put your feet up. While our guests spend their stay at Villa Arnica on the sunbeds in our garden, we prepare delicious food in our small cucina. Especially at breakfast, you will see that we are not of bad parents.
With this package we create individual spaces for the time out you deserve. Our maxim is oriented to relaxation instead of vacation stress, we drag out the time and therefore procrastinate a moment longer in our beds.
