Artist in Residence: Meital Katz-Minerbo

29. May 2020

The multidisciplinary artist Meital Katz-Minerbo was guest at Villa Arnica as Artist in Residence in May 2020.

Her work relates to the idea of mobility and concepts of territory and body. Her practice spans many different mediums: painting, drawing, print, collage, engraving, photography, sculpture, video and experimental fashion design. She focuses on the concept of being foreign and losing a sense of belonging.

Pursuing an alternative visual language, she combines elements from popular culture and fashion with botany and nature. She views plants as living creatures that are interconnected and always surrounding us.

During her time at the Villa, she worked on a drawn map of the widespread gardens. She finally created a stitched map of the plant lifes surrounding the Villa, which is displayed in the salotto.
