Artist in Residence: Marc-Alexandre Dumoulin
Marc-Alexandre Dumoulin (*1982 in Montréal, Canada) was guest as Artist in Residence at Villa Arnica in May 2024. The artist lives in Vienna and studied Fine Arts at Concordia University in Montréal and at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London. Dumoulin's work has been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Europe and North America.
With his painting, he persistently searches for the unfathomable, where the surface of the canvas becomes an excavation site, a place where he digs deeper and deeper until the image comes to the surface. Dumoulin's paintings, drawings, and etchings are thoughts that reveal their complexity through the sensual connection of colors, themes, and formats.
His artworks are exhibited in the salotto of the villa.
